Just booked tickets for Carlos Mencia...if you haven't heard him, his stand up is fantastic; no holds bared material.

OK, assuming that the Buckeye's and Wolverines run the table, which they should; Michigan rolls into Columbus as, I'm guessing a 5 or 6 point underdog. If this game is won by OSU on a last second field goal, or even worse, a two-point conversion in OT, how can you remove Michigan from the #2 spot?? Can you say College Football Playoff?

NOT A BAND WAGONER!! Ask my wife!! I'm not going to go into, at least right now, my long love of the Tigers, I'll just pick up with last nights game and the "dirt" on Kenny Rogers hand. It looked like pine tar, everyone knows it was pine tar, if Tony Larussa wasn't smart enough to point it out in the middle of the inning then shame on him. He gave the Tigers enough time to realize there was to much on Kenny's hand and they were able to clean it up. Sorry about your luck St. Louis! The fact that ESPN and other "credible" sports web sites will continue to focus on this into Rogers next start, the World Series clinching game for the Tigers, game six, is not fair to Rogers, the Tigers, or St. Louis for that matter who have all accomplished so much this season to have this event take center stage is typical of sports reporting these days!
For a while, I have considered myself a pretty fair Texas Hold'em player. Many of my friends will probably disagree, but I feel as though I've put a pretty good balance together between the literature I've read and the in game experience that I have been a part of, and hey if my friends consider themselves experts for busting my pocket Kings with their 4-9 off suit then so be it. Anyway, I reached a point this weekend that really is making me consider taking the next step in my "poker career" I've been fairly profitable at home games and have entered a few local charity tournaments even taking first in on with over 140 people. That has been the extent of my poker experiences; Internet home games, charity tournaments. This weekend I again entered a charity tourney and finished 9th out of about 100 people, give or take. It wasn't my play that took me out, it was the ridiculous acceleration of blinds (forced bets) that ate me away very quickly. While playing some of the better poker that I had played in a while put me in a good position, the game became ALL luck during the last hour as blinds doubled every 15 minutes. The plan is to seek out some potentially more profitable games, of course a larger risk as well. As this is my first post, and there are a few other topics I want to touch on as I get the ball rolling with my blog, I'm going to let this go for know, but will revisit the poker topic often.
